I'm not actually aware that the council were successful in their action - but do not see anything online about it. Some of my own ancestors also went to Australia at the beginning of the 19th century - actually sailed his own ship around the Cape of Good Hope - eventually settling in NSW. Hi Leonie.

His children who settled in Flinders Island, Tasmania, Australia would never have blocked access to the shores.
