Thanks for getting in contact. Indeed I see that your ancestors papers were used by the local action group - to dissuade the council from what they were trying to do.

I&#039;m not actually aware that the council were successful in their action - but do not see anything online about it.

Some of my own ancestors also went to Australia at the beginning of the 19th century - actually sailed his own ship around the Cape of Good Hope - eventually settling in NSW.</description>

		<description>as a relative of William Barrett, landlord of Culleenamore, I hope this fence was never built.  His children who settled in Flinders Island, Tasmania, Australia would never have blocked access to the shores.  My life is spent buying land for national parks in Australia and public access is too precious a thing to give away.</description>
